Education and health are basic needs in human society, but their attainment is possible only when poverty is eradicated from society. The above-mentioned needs have become problems in our society. Various institutions have been established to solve these problems.To fulfill the above basic needs, the United Nations has formed institutions such as UNESCO, ITU, UNDP, IMF, ECOSOC, World Bank, UNICEF, WHO etc . Society and literature influence on each other. Limited access to education and health facilities pose a grave problem in a human society. Its reflections may be seen in Urdu literature. This paper is an analytical study of Urdu literature produced in the context of Historicism. Such pieces of Urdu poetry have been studied which bring about the issues of poverty and bad governance in education & health. Literature informs social narrative and vice-versa.
