Principles of Sirah Writing and Their Contemporary Relevance

Abstract

This research focuses on the principles of Sirah writing and their relevance in the modern age. Different scholars’ views on Sirah literature were studied to understand how they approached this field. After reviewing these perspectives, certain guiding principles were formulated in this study to respond to the intellectual and social needs of the present era. These principles emphasize that Sirah should not only be seen as a record of events but also as a source for moral, social, and cultural guidance. The research suggests that Sirah must be presented in analytical and critical ways, linking it with contemporary disciplines such as sociology, psychology, literature, and science. By doing so, the universal message of the Prophet’s ﷺ life can reach modern minds with greater clarity. The aim is to highlight how Sirah writing can contribute to building an ethical society and guiding the younger generation in today’s world.
