When we have a look in the literacy history of Siraiki Poetry. It has continued its journey from the past several centuries. Sometime poet has been bound by tradition and worship the past but sometimes he leavs towards innovation with the support of tradition. This change is due to his uniqueness. Literature of almost every language is based on two basic forms these are poetry and prose. When we compare between these two forms. It became crystal clear that the mood of poem is attractive and romantic. It attracts the attention of the listeners also geners. These two basic genres of poetry, Ghazal and Nazm have their own prominent identity. The mood taste of Siraiki poetry is moulded into the poem. It reflect the basic as pects of society. Classical poetry along with the modern poetry have colored this genre with paints. Mood of poem has been perfectly adapted the linguistics, cultural and contemporary trends. Hence, a long list of Siraiki Modern poets can be seen. The name and position of Riffat Abbas is a unique one. The real name of Riffat Abbas is Ghulam Abbas. His ancestors migrated from Basera a town of Muzaffargarh to Shujabad and then to Multan. Riffat was born in July 1957 in Multan. He got his basic education from hometown. He graduated from Emerson College Multan, he switched to Bahawalpur, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur from where he passed his Master in Urdu with distinction. From his college life, he started writing poetry in Urdu and then in his mother language Siraiki. Through his Siraki poetry, he encourages his Wasabi people. How to live with dignity and bravery. He knows very well that the labour of Siraiki Wasaib are the crown of his Wasaib. They are making their land a heaven by their hectic and miserable life, they are making their Wasaib a place to live in. The chiefs tomandaars, shifted down the simple, honest, helpless and oppressed people as nameless. As a nationalist Riffat Abbas grasp hand of such oppressed people and brought them to the new horizon of life through his poetry. In his poems, sense of intention strongly presented. That is the reason, Riffat Abbas has been blessed with prominent place among his contemporary poets. He deserves to be called as “the son of the soil۔
