Urdu Naat is not merely a genre of religious praise but a profound socio-cultural and intellectual manifesto that serves as the bedrock of "Wahdat-e-Ummah" (Unity of the Ummah). This research article explores the thematic evolution of Urdu Naat, analyzing how it transcends individual devotion to become a collective call for Muslim solidarity. By examining selected verses and scholarly sources, the study delves into fundamental concepts such as the Primordial Covenant of Prophets, the Brotherhood of Medina (Muwakhaat), and the elimination of racial and ethnic prejudices through the Prophetic model. The article further investigates contemporary themes of "Ashob-e-Millat" (The Grief of the Nation), focusing on the literary responses to global Muslim crises in Palestine, Kashmir, and Iraq. It highlights how ninteenth and twentieth-century poets, including Allama Iqbal, Ahmad Nadeem Qasmi, and contemporary voices like Sabih Rehmani, have utilized Naat as a tool for "Istighasa" (supplication for help) and a roadmap for the restoration of the "Nizam-e-Mustafa" (The Prophetic System). The findings suggest that Urdu Naat has evolved into a powerful literary movement that bridges sectarian divides and offers a universal charter of peace, positioning the love for Prophet Muhammad ﷺ as the ultimate catalyst for the reunification and intellectual revival of the Muslim world.
