Abstract

Urdu prose poetry emerged in the 20th century as a distinctive literary form that departed from traditional poetic structures, offering a medium to express inner states, intellectual depth, and the complex experiences of modern humanity. Within this genre, the influence of globalization is evident not only in thematic concerns but also in style, thought, and modes of expression. Poets of prose in Urdu have incorporated global intellectual trends such as existentialism, isolation, materialism and the issues of war and peace. Into their personal and cultural contexts thereby connecting Urdu literature with broader international dialogues. This study highlights various aspects of globalization as reflected in Urdu prose poetry, through analytical exploration it examines how poets have blended local tradition with global thought to craft a new literary narrative the works of poets like Masood Qamar, Yasin Affaqi,  Naseer Ahmad Nasir, Rafia Waheed, Kosar Jamal, Azra Abbas, Anwar Son Roy ad many others illustrate this trend trough their engagement with universal themes adoption of western philosophical influences and experimentation with innovative linguistic and stylistic techniques. This research position Urdu prose poetry as part of a global literary movement, capable of  engaging in dialogue on issues that transcend, linguistic and cultural boundaries. This prose poetry not only represents the consciousness of its own million but also reflects a global literary sensibility contributing meaning fully to the discourse on shared human experiences.
