Mythology in Modern Urdu Novel

Abstract

Mythology is a great source of inspiration, it interprets about the creation of the world, human and nature, it is also pointing out the thunder, rain and many more natural disasters. It shows the stories about religious activities and worship style of different religion. It also provides the moral lessons, traditional and cultural values. The history of mythology is as old as human. Mythological stories are the integral part of Urdu short stories. However, these stories have least contribution in Modern Urdu novel accordingly. The real essence of mythology is considered as an important phenomenon in Urdu literature of Subcontinent. In twenty-first century, history is witnessed about the plenty of mythological references and endorsements related to Indian and Pakistani Modern Urdu novels. This research article is consisted in a strong critical analysis and multiple related references of different mythological Urdu novels of contemporary era. This study of mythology will be proved very productive for future researchers and will open different gateways for Modern Urdu Novel in positive manners.
