The importance of Urdu language in the national context

Abstract

This article represents the significance of Urdu language. Urdu holds the significance of being the national language of Pakistan; no other national language in the subcontinent can match its importance. The promotion of national unity is linked to this language, which reflects national culture. Urdu is a product of continuous historical processes and has such vastness that it can encompass all regional languages surrounding it. Urdu is the most spoken language in the subcontinent. Urdu's poetry, dramas, and novels reflect the environment and culture. Prose, poetry, fiction, and drama in Urdu interpret and represent the language. Day by day, work on Urdu is progressing in Pakistan, and it absorbs all other languages within itself.
