Shamsur Rahman Faroqi's novel "Kai Chand They Sar-e-Aasman" is a significant and popular work in Urdu literature, presenting the cultural and historical landscape of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries with exceptional narrative skill. To enhance the understanding of the novel, Faroqi has utilized and incorporated several historical and literary texts related to the subject matter, thereby amplifying the impact of the novel. Undoubtedly, the process of borrowing and incorporating plays a dynamic and positive role in literature. It not only brings innovation and diversity to literary creations but also promotes understanding and harmony between different cultures and languages. However, during this process, adherence to ethical and legal boundaries is crucial to avoid harming literary creativity and individuality. Faroqi has particularly kept this point in mind while utilizing and incorporating sources, which is critically and analytically discussed by the scribe in this article.
