Abstract

Kai Chand thay Sar-e-Aasman, a masterpiece that Shams ur Rehman Farooqi penned in the first decade of the 21st century, is one of most prominent novels of modern Urdu fiction. Besides the central character of Wazir Khanum, Farooqi has also created some other female characters that not only hold the narrative together but also play a significant role in the novel. In this article, an effort has been made to study how and to how effective an impact these women were visualized by the author to make in the novel.
